• Virgin vs recycled resin: The single biggest risk. Cheap PPR uses recycled or filler-loaded resin that becomes brittle and leaks under hot-water pressure. Insist on 100 percent virgin PP-R (type 3) and verify with the factory.
• Wall thickness and PN rating: A pipe labeled PN25 must have the correct wall thickness. Measure it — under-spec walls fail under pressure and Gulf heat.
• Pressure and hydrostatic testing: Demand pressure-test and hydrostatic-test reports for the batch.
• Potable-water hygiene: Water-supply pipe must be food-grade and safe for drinking water, with no toxic additives.
